Christopher McGerr - Game Designer

MMO: Sans Titre

Duration: May 2012-August 2012
Role: Game Designer
Team Size: 3 Full-Time, 2 Part-Time

The main reason for my employment at Synergy Space was to work on their proposed Untitled Massively Multiplayer Online Game. I was hired as a Game Designer to work on what was to be Tunisia's (and later the Franco-Arab world) answer to SecondLife. The ambitious project unfortunately did not come to fruition due to both scope and a lack of investment.

The project was developed using Unity3D and UnityParkSuite and during my time working on it, the basic back-end systems and control/game mechanics were established and implemented into the project. In terms of gameplay, the game had a very simple design functioning more as a chatroom than as a full playspace similar to the likes of Habbo and Club Penguin but with a slightly higher target audience than the teenage-focused Habbo - additional gameplay would have been integrated into the game after a small userbase had been built up.

The Untitled MMO would have been the first on the market to cater primarily to an audience using French or Arabizi as an online first language, during the early implementation stages it was not possible to integrate Arabic chat within the game, however that would have been a future goal - allowing for what would effectively be a tri-lingual environment.
