LEGO DC Super-Villains

Release Date: October 2018
Role: Hub Design Team / Game Dialogue
IP Holder: DC Comics

LEGO DC Super-Villains puts players in the role of the villains for the first time in a LEGO game, allowing them to create their own custom super-villain to improve and play as throughout the game's story.

LEGO DC Super-Villains features the biggest Hub ever seen in a LEGO DC game, encompassing Gotham City, Metropolis, Smallville, and Apokolips, alongside a number of side areas.

The game was released in October 2018, debuting on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam, and Switch.

My workload on the project was divided roughly as below, though in the interests of clarity my implementation efforts as with all LEGO projects did not involve the creation of assets and in some cases the implementation was a joint-effort with another designer.

I designed, wrote, and implemented content for the Smallville section of the Earth hub, and the Apokolips hub, as well as the smaller interior areas of Monarch Theatre and Joker's Funhouse. In the latter stages of development I took care of most of the Earth and Apokolips hubs.

In addition to this, I wrote a large portion of the in-game quests, and incidental dialogue. I also managed the Challenge and Text Message systems, and oversaw a lot of the general text used within the Hub.
