Christopher McGerr - Game Designer

LEGO Marvel Avengers

Release Date: January 2016
Role: Worlds Design Team / Additional Game Dialogue
IP Holder: Marvel Comics

LEGO Marvel Avengers was the first project I worked on during my time at TT Games Studios although it was released at a later date than LEGO Dimensions.

LEGO Marvel Avengers is a spiritual successor/prequel to 2013's LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and serves as a LEGO retelling of multiple films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The game was released in January 2016, debuting on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Steam, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. A handheld version of the game was released for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS developed by TT Fusion (the former name for TT Games Studios' Wilmslow office).

My workload on the project was divided roughly as below, though in the interests of clarity my implementation efforts as with all LEGO projects did not involve the creation of assets and in some cases the implementation was a joint-effort with another designer.

I designed and implemented content for the Asgard, Barton's Farm, S.H.I.E.L.D. Base, Sokovia, and Washington DC hubs.

In addition to this I also implemented aspects of Manhattan as well as writing the majority of the game's hub incidental dialogue, and the dialogue for a small number of quests.
